Course Description: Reading of the classical epics of Homer (Iliad, Odyssey) and Virgil (Aeneid) in English. Epic literature of ancient Mediterranean world. Mythic and heroic themes, narrative techniques, historic and social background, cross-cultural influences, and their representation and interpretation in antiquity and later.
Prerequisite: A lower division Classics course or consent of instructor (firstname.lastname@example.org).
