This course focuses on ancient historical accounts and archaeological evidence to introduce students to the major civilizations of the Eastern Mediterranean that flourished around 500-146 BCE, such as the Egyptians, Persians, Greeks, and Hebrews. By the end of this course, students will have a basic understanding of the civilizations that were active at this time, the major historical events that shaped the period, and the significant political, cultural, social, economic, technological, religious, and military developments..
