Course Description: This course introduces the major myths of the ancient Mediterranean world: stories about creation, important deities, and heroes. It emphasizes common themes and motifs in the myths, their origins and development, and the relationship of myths to political, cultural, and religious movements in the ancient world.
Prerequisite: None.
