This course is a reading workshop with the aim of teaching you how to read koine, the Greek dialect in which the Christian scriptures known as the “New Testament” are written. We will build familiarity with the language and literary character of the New Testament, with selections largely from the Gospels. Students in this class are expected to be concurrently enrolled in Greek 2, the winter-quarter component of the first-year ancient Greek sequence.
