GRK 100 Readings in Greek Prose

Instructor: Timothy Brelinski

MTWR 12:10 PM 1:00 PM

Prerequisite(s): GRK 003; or equivalent.

Greek 100 covers the critical transitional stage between introductory language acquisition and reading facility. The aim of this course is to reinforce mastery of foundational grammar while at the same time facilitating development of core reading skills. A solid command of vocabulary and morphology is essential for reading ancient Greek with ease.

Our in-class readings will be drawn from a selection of Greek prose writers from various periods. The focus of our reading will be on understanding points of grammar and syntax, rather than aiming for a perfect or definitive English translation.
