UC Davis offers a one-year sequence of three Latin courses, Latin 1, Latin 2, and Latin 3 to introduce students to Latin. Latin 1 is offered every fall quarter; Latin 2 every winter quarter, and Latin 3 every spring quarter. Latin 2 builds on the material from Latin 1, and Latin 3 builds on the material from Latin 1 and 2. Consequently, Latin 2 is suitable for students who have taken Latin 1 or who have had some Latin in the past elsewhere. It may also be a good place to resume Latin after a several-year gap in Latin instruction. Please contact John Rundin (jsrundin@ucdavis.edu), the instructor, if you are wondering if Latin 2 is right for you. Latin1-3 fulfills language requirements.
Prerequisite(s): LAT 001; or equivalent.
