Latin 118: Roman Historians

In this course we will be reading and analyzing Tacitus’ Agricola, a biography of the author’s father-in-law Julius Agricola, who was a very successful military commander, governor of Britain, and a member of Rome’s political elite. In addition to daily translation, we will also discuss the work’s genre, style, and historical context.
Prerequisite(s): LAT 100; or equivalent.
